Chomolungma, aka Sagarmatha. Nepalese \"Sagarmatha\" and Tibetan \"Chomolungma\" (as well as Chinese 圣母峰) are translated similarly as \"Divine Mother\" (There are options for translating the Nepali name as \"Forehead of Heaven\").. Tibetans call this peak Jomolangma (Tib.: ཇོ་མོ་གླང་མ jomo glangma), which translated means \"Divine Mother of the Universe\". In the Rongpu Monastery, located near the foot of the mountain, beautiful scriptures have been preserved, which indicate that the name of Mount Qomolangma was given in honor of the goddess Miyo Langsangma, who resides at its peak and slopes.. Miyo Langsangma is one of the \"Five Sisters of Long Life\" (Tib.: ཚེ་རིང་མཆེད་ལྔ tsering mched lnga). She sits on a tiger, holding a bowl of blessed food in her right hand and a mongoose in her left.
